Kaas Plateau
Kaas Plateau Tour is also known as Maharashtra's Valley of Flowers. Kaas Plateau is situated on the high hills of Sahyadri in the Western Ghats. It is the best place to visit in the monsoon, from the middle of August to October. The whole plateau looks like a carpet in various shades. It's a unique place for flora researchers, nature lovers & photographers. About 175 various flower species are found at Kaas Plateau and one of the few found on earth only at Kaas Plateau. In June 2012, UNESCO announced
this location as a Biodiversity World Heritage Site.
The plateau is home to 850 species of flowering plants, of which 624 have entered the Red Data Book, a state document that lists species whose existence is threatened. As many as 39 species are found only in the Kaas region. Some of the rare species found here include Dipcadi Montanum, Ceropegia Vincaefolia, Pleocaulus Ritchiei, and Drosera Burmannii. This is also the reason why the place is popular with nature lovers, flora researchers and photographers.

Sajjangad Fort
Sajjangad Fort, which is situated in Satara District, Maharashtra, India. The Fort's name defines, "Sajjan" means Good people and gad means Fort in Marathi. The Fort is about 3350 feet above sea level. Sajjangad Fort Hike starting point Parali, Satara District. Sajjangad Fort Trek gradient It is an Easy grade level trek. The Fort is easily approachable by a vehicle also. One has to climb about 200 to 300 steps to reach the entrance point of the Fort.
Water resources One can get water near Sonale lake. A drinking water facility is available on the Fort. The best months to visit the Fort are from October to February. Winter season is preferred as the best time to visit the Fort. As the temperature is low and the weather makes the site prettier. Stay is available for free at the resting house on the Fort do reach before five pm. There are many food stalls available near the parking area of the Fort. You can combine the Fort visit with the Kaas Plateau visit and Thoseghar Waterfall during monsoon. Ideally, visit the place on weekdays to avoid the huge rush and find accommodation at the stay on top of the fort. Fort is open for pilgrims from 05:00 am to 09:00 pm every day. After 9 pm exit or entry is strictly restricted. Lunch and early dinner are served to devotees every day free of cost as Prasad by Shri Ramdas Swami Sansthan. On Shiv Jayanthi devotees visit the fort in thousands to pray and seek blessings.
